“Its’ not you I’m letting go, it’s the addiction and right now, the addiction is a part of you I can’t deal with.”
Quote from Mario, ‘Jet’ magazine, May 5, 2008.
This is the outstanding sentence which sets the background for what I’m going to write. When *Mr. Barrett gave his mother the ultimatum of getting help, or he was out, he took a stand that saved her life.
In the Christian realm, we view factors as either led b a righteous (right) spirit, or evil (wrong) spirit. By taking a positive, unswerving, firm stand against the spirit of addiction, Mr. Barrett too a righteous stand against the demon that was holding his mother hostage.
Oh God, I have been there! How many Christians and non-Christians alike have had to face the impossible concerning a loved on even though facing up to the problem, be it alcoholism, drug abuse, schizophrenia, etc. meant so much emotional turmoil. But for all that, you HAVE TO FACE IT! THERE IS NO OTHER WAY OUT!
Any stand in Love, or righteousness is backed by God. Whether the person is a born again Christian, or not does not stand in the way if they are determined. That is one God’s many gifts. God is great!
Now, this is the crucial part!
After your mother has been clean for some time, Satan will decide to make a go at it again. There is no question about it! The Devil is evil land always seeks to kill, steal and destroy. He doesn’t sit back and accept loses just like that!
Mr. Barrett, I’m going to give you some solid, first hand advice that will barricade your mother and yourself from losing the battle against future attacks: the key is salvation.
If both of you are already saved, pray together and commit yourselves and your other brothers to God for strength and protection.
If you are not born again yet, give your lives to the Lord, because He is the only one who can see you through.
How can anyone do anything other than what they are taught? Unless you have options you can only do what you know. I am informing you of those options. Why take the hard road out? It’s worth considering.
God bless!
*Since this is of a serious nature and I don’t know Mario personally, I think it best to call him by his title. Calling someone by their first name in a message like this would be too crass!

I think you're right. People are afraid to tread on unfamiliar territory. I am learning to push past that by seeing the good, bad and ugly in people and renewing the good part of them in the name of God. You have to keep it real!

I dont think that it is christian that arent eqquiped to open up 2 it i think it is people in general. --"Let no man pull you low enough to hate him." Thank you. But you know what else? Alot of Christians are not equipped to open up to the dark side of drug abuse. I have read and heard about the 'hallucinations' that people have, but in essence drug abuse is also supernaturally linked to demonic activity.
It would grip your heart to hear what people say they 'see' when in high on drugs.
I will admit,as a Christian I didn't feel it was my forte to deal with, but it really is.
