The R&B singer breaks down his participation on ABC's Dancing With The Stars.
At 21, R&B superstar Mario’s resume already includes a Billboard number-one single (“Let Me Love You”), a platinum-selling album (Turning Point) and appearances in major Hollywood films like Step Up (Touchstone Pictures) and Freedom Writers (Paramount Pictures). So, what more can the talented singer/actor/dancer do? Try joining the sixth season of ABC’s hit reality show Dancing With The Stars, which kicked off in March and includes former ice-skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi, and NFL star Jason Taylor. With the field of contestants now down to seven (Mario finished tied for second with Taylor with a score of 27 out of 30 for his samba routine on Monday), Mario talks to VIBE.com about the show’s intense training regimen, the judges, and dances around the rumors about his relationship with dance partner Karina Smirnoff.

Um.... Mario I do ballroom.! I know weird my friends bug me about it too.lol. But I love doing it. Although I prefer doing the latin dances over the standard.
As for Karina, you know she's 5 time latin ballroom dance champion. She is the queen in her field .She's extremely well known and respected in the ballroom field. I've said to my friends , damn she's giving you some hard choreography. She's only doing that because she knows you can do it. You are by far the best partner she's had. That clown Mario Lopez, was full of himself .If he wasn't so arrogrant they probably would have won it.

BTW-after thought. Although majority of your fans don't do ballroom . You may be surprised how diverse your base really is. I have friends at work , and they are older women that love you since you've been on the show. They are like who is this Mario.?Is he famous./ ( i just roll my eyes and laugh) This show will broaden your base. I actually have them listening to your latest cd . :)
I know it's hard...
...rehearsing 8-12 hours a day and then jetting thru the skies 2 gig it up, but you have 2 keep your solid character about yourself...you know how we do... Do that Mario baby ;) lol...
